A Midsummer Night's Dream.

We were offered 2 tickets for the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park as a wedding present. The Play was "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare.
I have to say that I wasn't really keen to seat down for almost 3 hours watching a play as it was such a lovely evening and that didn't happen for few weeks in London.
The play was fantastic! and the cast amazing! I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it, the open air theatre is a beautiful setting (if it's not pouring down with rain).
Here are few sketches from the play.

That blind dude is looking RIGHT AT YA!!! He KNEW you were drawing man! Sweet 'thespian' sketches- the one of Bottom is funny. 'Midsummer's' a play ripe for visual interpretation.

i'm impressed with your ability to capture moving people so quickly. I need to practice my "fast drawing." Oh, and have i mentioned that your boat drawing below is fantastic?

I really like the old guy second from bottom - reminds me of the one from Poltergeist II, apologies if he is a friend of yours. . .
I find it so difficult to sketch random strangers - I feel it's such an imposition. I'm really looking forward to the life drawing Kat & Matt are organising.

- Thank you James. I'm moving to California this September, and I might go sometimes to Pixar to visit my friend Bolhem, I'd love to meet you one day when I'm there, love your work.

- Oscar, Elliott, I have tickets now for "let's get together again soon for some food and drinks"

- Very kind of you M. Eva Lana, and thanks for loving me.

- Thanks Tim.

- Do you want to draw or sit for us at the life drawing course?

Sehr gut. Fleshed-out pics of Shakespearean characters---imagine the court of Oberon---(or Prospero/Caliban, witty Iago and his stooge Otello. etc. etc.---would be quite delightful). Or some close ups of the Rude Mechanicals and that baron of dilletantes, Peter Quince........Grafix novels are hot hot hot............

oh draw - not sit.
I could get models if you needed them though?

This makes me so happy I was an actress in A Midsummers Night Dream. The performance out side was so exhilarating! But rehearsal was exhausting the weather was So HOT one day and pouring down rain the next. The Wall sketch made me chuckle considering my best friend was the wall and he is the coolest person with an amazing personality ever.

It is one of the coolest Shakespeare plays to experience out doors!

Thank you very much for popping by Bo! I'm very happy you like the sketches, that's the best reward for me when somebody connect to my work and even better when it's somebody who was acting in the play.
I enjoyed it so much, my wife and I had a fantastic time! you guys were amazing!
Which part did you play? Did I sketch you?
Thanks again!

shame I didn't sketch you. We weren't allowed to take photos, so it was a good opportunity to practice fast sketching while watching a play.
Are you in an another play now?

Ah OK! you're here in the U.S too! I thought you were in London. I went to Kansas City 3 months ago when I arrived in the States, you can see some of the sketches I've done there in one of my post. I loved it! Very good meat there, I had those fantastic ribs.
