I tried some watercolour washes this Tuesday evening, I used some watercolour in tubes for the first time, which is great for washes and for mixing the colours together, the pans are great when I sketch outdoors, it's tidy in a little box, but not so great for spontaneity. I wanted to achieve the same effect I had 3 weeks ago with black ink, I love the organic feel of the cold and warm colours bleeding and mixing with each others, can be a bit "messy" sometimes, I do still need to practice a lot.

The tutor loves you! You are top of the class.
Stay away from the Dunce in the corner.
- it's probably because I'm not listenning to her and stay calm, I just say yes to whatever she says, I want to be left alone having a good time for 2 hours. I believe she's jealous of your talent, that's why she always have to find something wrong in what we do, like when she said to me that I have the smallest sketchbook she's ever seen, and that it's impossible to draw that small...
- Merci Cali, comme je l'ai dis, je m'entraine a cette technique, difficile d'ailleurs, c'est assez aleatoire la facon dont les couleurs reagissent.
terrific stuff, stef--
the painted figures are really nice!
Wow man! amazing stuff!!
I did not log on to bore you with reminders of your talent, versatility and vision.
Instead I thought I'd note (after our discussion of beers and such) that I have just downed a 6 pack of Kronenbourg, which I believe is one of your local beers.
I have found it to be entirely pleasing.
Even though it only comes in teeny tiny little 330ml bottles.
-Thanks Nick and Martin!
-Aaaah, Kronenbourg, it's a French beer actually Elliot, that's why it's coming in teeny tiny bottles, we don't do pints in France, glad you enjoyed them.
Master Stephane,
I wanted to communicate to you that I have marked yours blog in mine... I hope that you don't dislike for this, indeed, I hope you will come to find to me!
Thanks.

Mon dieu! Top left is GORGEOUS!! Sublime stuff as always. Are you taking an apple for Anne next week?
This is fantastic super cool washes :)
excellent stuff! She IS annoying isn't she.. in the bottom drawing, you should sketch her in- looks like Mr Watts has reached boiling point, dropping his pencil here and is about tho kill her!
I know it's French - that's why I mentioned it!
GGGGGReat sketches Stef!!
I've been thinking of doing some watercolors recently...
loved the ink life studies in previous post. these two top watercolors are stunning. such control. are you doing these in that little fabriano book? beautiful man.
Nice watercolors sketches! It would be great to see some more.:O)
these are all beautiful..wowsaz!
You have a nifty thing going on with those loose watercolors, they have a unique feel. I've been amazed by the rest of you work, too. You have a wide path of style and all of it is fun to look at.
Hmmm...Two of our favourite bloggers: Stef and Matt C... Teacher's pet and teachers nemesis?? Stef.. your work always amazes! Matt... your work always amazes!! Two of the best. The teacher's perspective isn't the only perspective...
These watercolour nudes have great style. Love the sitting man brusg work at the bottom.
OAHU!
Beautifull things STEF!!!!!!!!!!!
Those are really great ones.
I love the first one and the 3erd the best.
oh, wow!!!! I love the way the colours mix with each other, such a pretty effect!!!
Saperlipopette! These are bloody good; top and bottom are my favorites. S'more great work in your previous posts too, Stef!
Kriss...
Which is what they say in Jamaica when something nice.
Nice it up Stef, man.
Thank you very much for all your nice words guys!
-Thanks John, I've done these ones on a bigger scale (A3) to have more freedom with the washes and be able to use a lot of water too. Problem with a sketchbook is that you have to wait for it to dry before turning the page, not convenient in a life drawing class when you have to do as much as possible in 2 hours.
-Thank you very much for this nice compliment the Doodlers!
- Nom d'une pipe! Thanks Limbolo.
THese drawings are beautiful!! I love the watercolor one!! Those are very unique and simpily great drawings!
Love the bleeding watercolour figures. LOVE.
