Yeeehaaa!

Following on my children's book project "Rodeo" (only a working title), here are some sketches I did over the weekend.

As well, I finally received the rough sculpts of the 2 characters bouncing around! My sculptor friend in Paris used the illustration I did for the cover of the book as a model. I can't wait to see the final sculpt in tin! the packaging should be very nice too, a little wooden box. I will probably sell some via the blog for those interested. I'll let you know.

A picture to give you an idea of the size of the figurine compare to my friend's lighter. So small and so beautiful!

How cool is that?
Can't believe the size of the sculpture. your friend must have steady hands. Wow!

Thanks Uli! he has very small steady hands, i can't believe he did it without a turnaround of the characters, and made it work too!

oooh wooowww that is amazin, and sooo small!!! It is great who the doggy stands in the air with just 2 tiny ... I don´t know who to say this... 2 tiny things that holds him in the air :D and it all balances with the pig little legs. Grat sculpture of a great drawing :)

Well, looks like the horse might need another weekend of 'research' but the sculpture is superb. Your friend must have tiny little claws to model with such detail. Astounding. The solution for the pigs mouth works beautifully.

Love the horsey's shaggy mane, Stef. I'm amazed at the fearsome size of that sculpt, too. Fearsomely small, that is. Yikes! Such a winsome image to see rendered in three dimensions.

God Stef, the sculpt is stunning, Can't wait to see what you do with the project.

Thanks for popping by Bobby! we'll probably sell them 35£. They're going to be in tin, painted or natural. They'll come in a handmade wooden box. My friend is a incredible sculptor! he can work so small and yet manage to have all those details in the figurine...it's amazing!
Thanks Donnachada! it's a very exicting project for me, the book, the sculpt and Uli who's going to do an animation test with them...what's next?!

Uhmm Stef I think is to cheaper that price.. I have one friend of mine, she made this kind the sculpture, and when they are more little ..they are more expensive, and handmade work is very priceless. Is only I little advise :)

Unknown said...

Thank you very much for the advice Virginia, we don't really know yet, we have to look on the market at the different type of figurines and their prices, handmade. It's true that my friend is doing a lot of work on it, the moulds, all the time he's spending cleaning the final figurine... all this counts!

I know when they are ooak,(one of the kind) they are expensive, when the sculptures are limited edition, they are not cheaper... If you need any help about prices I can ask to my friend, but you know the final price always the artist decide Take care and thank you again
