Ahoy!

One of the only illustration I've done on Illustrator, I scanned my sketch and went over it with Matt's precious help (he's an illustrator genius). I'm doing most of my digital colouring on Photoshop now, I find it much easier.
So here it is, a little graphic Pirate, was a lot of fun to do!

This is so beautiful!!!! Shame the colour version didn't make the Eurovision. Absolutely brilliant.

Thank you very much Uli!!! I think I didn't have the colour version at the time. I still find it difficult to keep the energy of a sketch when you go to digital colour, trying not to kill the first rough.

The color one is very cool but I must say the sketch is fantastic! I think I prefer it. On a side note, I got an email today to remind me of International Talk Like A Pirate Day 2005! Only 12 days to go.

I like the sketch bett also :) Illustrator and freehand for me are also very complicated to use, nothing like photoshop. And Flash!!! :D

That's crackerjack, Stef!

Yes - your sketch is full of character and life, which is not to say the colour version is a slouch of any kind.

Actually this is really cool to see. One of the hardest parts of creating cut-out, minimalist art is deciding which details to keep and which to do away with. I'd love to see more of your sketches compared to your final pieces!

I like how you show the sketch and illustration. I don't think I'd say one is better than the other because they are both good for different reasons. The sketch works as a great drawing and the illo has cool design elements. I also like your color choices. So I guess what I'm trying to say is shiver me timbers I like both!!

Hooray! Great to see that one in colour Stef - he's a superb character. Ever do some more poses with him?
I'm really digging the 'Once upon a time' that you guys did too -

Thank you very much guys for your nice comments everybody!
Sandra: I did the sketch traditionally, and the colour in illustrator.

Absolutly powerful!
Superb sket and really powerful finish!
Great!

I envy all of you who can draw in illustrator! (I try a lot of times, but flash is more friendly with the line isn'it?)

Sans rien enlever au résultat final, je dois dire que dans ce cas-ci, je préfère le rough. Mais c'est bien joli tout ça quand même.
