The Guardian.

My first illustration published in the Guardian weekend magazine today!
Very exciting, and hopefully not the last one.

My rough and final illustration.

Dull. Trite. Toulouse-Lautrec retreads, OK, competent: c'est vraiment. But not really Ahht. You'e like playing your scales for some hicks, or doing a little Bach prelude. And making fun of the stoopid Amerikans, etc. To hicks anyone who can draw a face is Picasso. Doesn't work that way for some of us. Start with like Grosz, or even Tenniel's Alice' drawings. Any number of Victorian draughtsman did stuff like this when they first started to jerk off. Generally a good cartoonist--Crepax, Moebius( ZuT!), even the SF freaks like Crumb, or Griffiths, S. Clay, Bondo Bob--spin circles around this sort of trite plein aire jasss.........
