Test.

This is a sketch I've done yesterday evening over a nice dinner, and I wanted to try a different way to color it. So I played with some worn out textures and transparencies, I used this technic on an illustration I've done for King Kong a while ago, but never on my sketches. I find it very pleasant and interesting to do.
I have more from last night that I'll color and post soon.

Also, I love to draw in cars, I find the "wobbly" line you get out of it very interesting. This morning, I decided to draw the guy in front of me while I was walking...quite a challenge (it started to rain too). I'll do it again. Here's the result.

In The Tube...

This is a small sketch that I've done in the tube last month. I left it on the side for a while as it was nothing special, and then remembered yesterday that I wanted to draw the pattern of the London Underground seats on it at the time, but my journey was too short, and also, I'm not Albert Brenet (see the great blog that Limbolo started on him).
So here it is, done on photoshop.

Pinewood Studios...Almost.

Second visit to Pinewwod Studios yesterday, I was very excited to finally get in, as the first time I went there last summer, I had to comtemplate the trailers and bits of warehouse from behind the fence.
Well, this time was almost worst, as we were inside but not allowed to go around and get the chance to see some great movie sets, they were filming... so this is the only two sketches I've done of the rather beautiful park.

Tuesday Life Drawing.

I tried some watercolour washes this Tuesday evening, I used some watercolour in tubes for the first time, which is great for washes and for mixing the colours together, the pans are great when I sketch outdoors, it's tidy in a little box, but not so great for spontaneity. I wanted to achieve the same effect I had 3 weeks ago with black ink, I love the organic feel of the cold and warm colours bleeding and mixing with each others, can be a bit "messy" sometimes, I do still need to practice a lot.

Remy Champion!

I've done this illustration for my good friend Remy who loves vintage motorbikes. He has just finished his first comic book for Casterman in France.
His book is going to be released in June, it's called "Acheve d'Imprimer", all in black and white, it looks great! I'll update this post as soon as he sends me some drawings from it to share with you.

I've also included the rough, I've drawn the bike and the little guy separately.

Blue Cab.

I love London Cabs, very colorful sometimes. I quickly sketched this one, caught in a traffic jam on Saturday morning, just in front on the window where I was having a coffee.

Saperlipopette!

That's what I said when I discovered that my blog was dead yesterday evening! ("saperlipopette" is a very old French expression that means "oh my god"). Thanks to Elliot who sent me an email to let me know and helped me recover everything.

Last sketch of the week, my lovely colleague Saj, spreading the love digitally.
