A Little Book Project.

This is work in progress. I'm putting my sketches from a trip to Orlando 2 weeks ago together in a kind of book or magazine.
I'd like to do the same thing for the sketches I've done during my trip to Croatia last summer.
This will take a bit of time, so here is the cover so far, let me know what you think?

Great, strange me and my wife are just going to do the same. Will you bind it professionally? I hope you might considering doing the same for your older sketches too, I love your Tokyo things, and Stockholm of course

Thanks Mattias. I didn't think about binding so far, just doing the layout for fun, but I might consider it and sell them on the blog if some people are interested.
What about you? did you find a place to bind them or print them? You have so much art, you can fill a library!

My wife is a bookbinder, We're speaking about buying a better printer and then making the books ourself, I got a link from one contact www.lulu.com where you can publish yourself, but I think it maybe good to start in a small scale, and see where it brings you.

Oh yes, I heard about Lulu.com while I was in SanDiego Comicon last July, apparently it's very good. I'll give it a go.

COolio!! I am thinking to use lulu myself too. Can't wait to see your books!

Love this! Lulu's a cool place...a little pricey I found. But the great thing is they do all the work for you.

it looks beautifu. i'd definately buy one..

I definitely would buy a copy as well. Have you considered selling limited edition Giclee prints? They seem to be fairly affordable when you look at printing drawings on hot or cold pressed papers. Canvas and stretched canvas prints are a bit pricier. I had considered Lulu.com for myself, but am waiting to hear from others about their experience.

- Thanks Alina, Scott and Kristian.

- Thanks Slingthought, I've never thought about giclee prints, but might do if some people express an interest in buying some, I'd love to print out few books first.
Is there anywhere I can see your work?

I am glad to read that you are FINALLY doing this. It's your first step in total domination of the world monsieur Kardos.

Salut!

- Hey Matt, thanks, very nice of you, how would you do that?

- Merci beaucoup Mr Smook! this is just a mock-up though. I'll do a book with my Croatia sketches and probably the ones from Stockholm for a start.

I work for a print company. Let me know if you plan to go ahead with it and I'll see what I can do.

Unknown said...

Very kind of you Matt. Let's talk about it by email if I plan to print some. Thank you.

No prob's Stef. I won't be in the job for too long and I'd like to get as much out of it (for myself and others) as possible.

This sounds well dodgy, watch your step with this guy Stef.

Stef, you can see samples of my work at http://www.slingthought.com/worksamp.html

Simply click on "View the Artside of Keith Tatum" tout on the right side of the screen. It will launch a small pop-up window of past work.
