Rodeo

A children's book project that I started and stopped because I wasn't sure of the story, the title is "Copains Comme Cochons" in French, which basically means "Best Friends in The World" in English, story of a pig who would love to be a horse and a dog who would love to be a cow-boy, bored in their little farm and dreaming about rodeo contests against real cow boys.
This is a test for the cover of the book plus 3 sepia ink vignettes of composition concepts for the beginning, the middle and the end of the story.
My Sculptor friend in Paris is working on a sculpt from this cover illustration, 2.75 inches tall, I will have pictures of the rough sculpt soon.

Figurines to come soon

One of my best friend in Paris is an amazing Sculptor, very talented and inspiring Artist. He's going to do some figurines based on my characters, we are going to start with my little pig, the pirate and maybe this bear. He started to work on a cow I did a while ago, a painting (acrylics), you can see below the rough sculpt he did.
We're going to do them as limited editions, in tin probably, quite small, approximatively 1.18 inches tall, I'll let you know as soon as we will have the first ones available to show you. Let me know if some of you would be interested by those figurines.
You can see as well some examples of his great work below.

A weekend in France

I went down to France for the weekend, in a very small village south east of Paris, In Burgundy, this is some of the sketches I've done there.

Vroom Vroom!

During one of my trips to Scandinavia last year, I went through Norway and saw those beautiful round montains, a funny car in Sweden and a big bear and his friend in the woods... apart from the fact that they weren't really driving around.
This is the picture I did back home (collage done on photoshop).

Aaaah, Paris!

A painting I've done when I was living in Paris, I love the rooftops! I painted this one on carboard with acrylics,

Jour de fete!

As Matt and Gerben already posted their beautiful Jacques Tati illustration, I thought it was my turn now. As Matt said, we did those as a theme between us before our Eurovision Art Challenge started. I really like "jour de fete", I wanted to do a poster using some of the iconic elements of the story. Voila!

Sculptures

3 sculptures I've done during our sculpting class. The first one is very small, 8cm (3.15 inches) high, done as a rough for a bigger one but I stop at this stage, it's like with my drawings, I love the rough stage. I used different clays and I did a "patine" on the last one with "vert de gris".

Thief

An illustration I've done a while ago, acrylics on cardboard. A fake advertising promoting a Parisian detective agency. We can't really see on the picture, but I've painted the thief, the background and the "blondeau" letters on separate pieces of carboard and then put them together, like a collage, all the elements are on a different level.

Collage

Two little birds and a bee I did at work. I scanned different fabrics and put them together on photoshop.
I've done more collage for myself that I'll post soon.

Ahoy!

One of the only illustration I've done on Illustrator, I scanned my sketch and went over it with Matt's precious help (he's an illustrator genius). I'm doing most of my digital colouring on Photoshop now, I find it much easier.
So here it is, a little graphic Pirate, was a lot of fun to do!

What iceberg?!?

This is the illustration I did for our last Eurovision Art Challenge theme.
I did it all on photoshop. I wanted to do a lot of silly submarines with eyes, showing a busy environment underneath the bear drifting away, relaxing with his lunch box.

Berlin

Few sketches from Berlin, last year, Gerbeen, Matt and I have been there for the first Pictoplasma conference. I really enjoyed Berlin.
There's a sketch of the incredible roof structure of Potsdamer platz.
We had dinner at the top of the TV tower that you can see on my last sketch, it was very funny, it's like a James Bond movie inside, very late 60's and a fantastic view of Berlin at the top!

Merry X-Mas and Happy New Year!

I know it's too early, but I wanted to share with you the illustration I did for X-mas and the New Year last year, done on photoshop. It was the theme of our Eurovision Art Challenge last December.
There's a page of my London cabs and bus sketches too. I love drawing cars, try to give them a cartoony design, I did that with my King Kong illustration as well.

People

Some sketches in a restaurant and cinema. All brush pen.
